A poem for our troops!!!!?

*You stay up for 16hrs

He stays up for days on end.

*You take a cold shower to help u wake up.

*He goes days w/o running water.

*You complain about a headache %26amp; call in sick.

He gets shot @, others hit, %26amp; he keeps moving forward.

*You make sure your cell is in your pocket.

He clutches the cross hanging on his chain next to his dog tags.

*You talk about your ';buddies'; that aren't w/u.

He knows he might not see some of his buddies again.

*You walk down the beach staring @ these pretty girls.

He patrols the streets searching for insurgent %26amp; terrorists.

*You complain about how hot it is.

He wears his heavy gear, not daring to take off his helmet to wipe his brow

*You go out to lunch, %26amp; complain because the restaurant got your order wrong

He doesn't eat today.

*Your maid makes your bed %26amp; washes your clothes.

He wears the same thing for days, but makes sure his weapons are clean.

*Your angry because your class ran 5 minutes over.

He's told he will be held an extra 2 months.

*You call your girl friend %26amp; set a date for tonight.

He sits %26amp; waits for the mail to see if there is a letter from home.

*You hug %26amp; kiss your girlfriend like you do everyday.

He holds his letter close %26amp; smells his loves perfume.

*You roll your eyes as a baby cries.

He gets a letter w/ pictures of his new child %26amp; wonders if they will ever meet.

*You criticize your government %26amp; say that war resolves nothing.

*He sees innocent tortured %26amp; killed by their own people %26amp; he remembers why hes fighting.

*You hear jokes about the war %26amp; make fun of men like him.

He hears the gun fire,bombs,%26amp; screams of the wounded.

*You see only what the media wants you to see.

He sees the broken bodies lying around him.

*Your asked to go to the store by your parents, you don't.

He does exactly what he's told even if it pus his life in danger.

*You stay home %26amp; watch TV.

He takes whatever time he is given to call home, write, sleep %26amp; eat.

*You crawl into your soft bed with pillows %26amp; get comfortable.

He tries to sleep but gets woken up by mortars %26amp; helicopters all night long.

**** I MISS MY BABY****A poem for our troops!!!!?
Its a very nice poem. As I was reading it I kept flashing back and forth in my mind how real this war really is. The wondering and the anguish over will so and so come home, or will my friend be able to see her newborn again. Whether my cousin will see her sons first baseball game, whether my friend since 3rd grade will keep promise to come back safely and be with his sweetheart and their new baby girl. It opens your eyes and makes you realize how great each and every one of these human beings are. How proud every American should be of the people fighting for something better. Thank you.A poem for our troops!!!!?
i think it just shows you how ownderful our military is

and what makes it even more wonderful

is they do it completly voluntarily

what love for our country they must have

and i pray every day for them and their families
it really opens up ur eyes. i have 2 cousins i the service, my cousin donnie went to iraq and was almost killed multiple times, but he survived and is living in california right now....he is getting married soon.
Yep it sucks over there, hopefully he won't reenlist when his time is up.
